Marion L. Griswold, 89, of Dowagiac, MI, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 30, 2017 at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac with Pastor Stacey Wilder officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Marion was born January 9, 1928 in Dowagiac, to Earl and Myra (McCoy) Jones. She graduated from Dowagiac Central High school. In 1956 she married Duke Prak, they enjoyed 17 years together before his death in 1973. Marion married Charles Griswold in 1981. She was a classy lady, always had her hair fixed nice, and her clothes and jewelry always coordinated. Marion spent many days in her flower beds, she only grew red or pink flowers. She was a great cook and was always giving advice on meal preparation, even at the nursing home. Marion’s family would like to thank the staff at the Alamo Nursing Home in Kalamazoo for taking such wonderful care of her.
Marion is survived by her son, Roger (Sandy) Prak of Dowagiac; daughter, Linda (Dan) DeRyder of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Bradley Prak of Texas, Corrina Williams of Kalamazoo, Billy (Tara) Williams of Elkhart; great-granddaughter Sawyer Williams.
Marion was preceded in death by her husbands, Duke Prak and Charles Griswold; three aunts, Marion McCoy, Helene McCoy and Isla Springsteen; her uncle Jake McCoy.
