Doris was born May 28, 1919 in Dowagiac to Ira and Sadie (Stahl) Lee. She graduated from Dowagiac Central High school. On September 1, 1946 she married Oswald Wegner in Dowagiac. Doris was a loving wife, devoting her time caring for her husband until his passing on February 4, 1989. She would often get a special twinkle in her eye whenever she was talking about him. Doris was an avid fan of Nascar especially driver Ryan Newman, who she babysat for when he was a youngster. She was a very meticulous person, always there to help anyone in need. Doris was known to be very blunt, but you always knew where you stood with her. She enjoyed doing genealogy research, not only keeping the records, but also being able to tell you the story. She was Aunt Doris to many. Doris’s family would like to thank the physical therapists and staff at the Cass County Medical Care Facility for taking such wonderful care of her.
Doris is survived by her sisters, Charlotte M. Rak of Dowagiac and Bettie J. Sager of Niles; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Oswald; siblings, Edd J. Lee, Clare P. Lee, Earl P. Lee, Richard W. Lee, Lois A. Adam and George W. Lee.
