Joyce's Obituary

Joyce L. Accoe, 61, of Dowagiac, passed away, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at her home, surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac with Pastor Brent Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at South Wayne Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. . In lieu of flowers Joyce’s wish was memorial contributions made to the Cass County Fair Association-Dairy Barn. Those wishing to sign Joyce’s guestbook may do so online at www.clarkch.com.  Joyce was born on April 7, 1956 in Dowagiac to Kenneth and Barbara (Keene) Green. She graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1974. On May 10, 1978 she married the love of her life, David Accoe in Dowagiac. Joyce’s true passion was her family and this was shown by her dedication and hard work on the family farm. Joyce enjoyed quality time working with her husband, daughters and grandchildren on the farm and watching them show animals at the county fair. Joyce’s love for county fairs started as a young child when a family tradition began by going to the St. Joe County fair in Centreville with her grandparents, this tradition continues on today with her own family.  She was a 4-H leader in Cass County for 39 years.  She was an avid crocheter and horse lover, her favorite smell was the nose of a horse.  Joyce is survived by her loving husband, David Accoe; daughters, Heather Huston (Joseph) Pauley of Dowagiac, Amy (Steve) Pike of Dowagiac and Randi (Matt) Cady of Decatur; grandchildren, Caitlon (Jared Jones) Pauley, Madison and Samantha Pauley, Carlee and Colton Cady, and Mason and Levi Pike; great-granddaughter Lauren Jones; mother, Barbara Green of Dowagiac; siblings, Elizabeth Mott and  David (Christine) Green both of Dowagiac, mother in law Pauline Accoe and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Green, father in law Richard M. Accoe and brother in law Michael Mott.
