Michael's Obituary
Michael P. Moore Sr., 54, of Dowagiac, passed away, Thursday, April 27, 2017, after a valiant battle with cancer at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, MI.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac with Father Richard Altine officiating. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hope Lodge Guest House, 129 Jefferson Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. A memorial service will also be held in the Chicago area at a future date to be determined.
Miike was born on July 18, 1962, in Oaklawn, IL to William and Marion (Zimmerman) Moore. He graduated from Carl Sandburg High School in 1980. He was a supportive husband to his wife Linda and a loving father to their children. He wasn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty and showed them the value of hard work. In his free time he could be found helping neighbors, working outside, and spending time with friends near the water. Mike was a die-hard Chicago sports fan who was grateful to witness championships for each team during his lifetime. He was a master of crossword puzzles, trivia, and was always ready with a one-liner joke.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Linda M. Kiely; sons, Michael (Lauren LaPorte) Moore of Chicago and Stephen (MaryPat) Moore of Chicago; daughter, Robin Kiely-Moore of Dowagiac; step-sons, Thomas (Ashley) Kiely of Portage, IN and Christopher Catanzaro of Chicago; a grandchild to be born soon; brothers, William (Jennifer) Moore of Elgin, IL and Timothy (Petra) Moore of Portland, OR; sister, Colleen Quinlan of Ontario, Canada; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
