William Paul Hoppe

William “Billy” Hoppe, 70, of Dowagiac, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. Billy was born on May 29, 1947 in Cassopolis to William and Lorene (Greenwood) Hoppe. He graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1965. Billy proudly served his country in the United States Army before he was honorably discharged in 1969.He worked as an accountant for many years at HRP construction in South Bend before retirement. Billy was a long time member of the Dowagiac Moose Lodge #933 and Dowagiac Elks Lodge #889. He enjoyed movies and had a passion for computers and technology. Most of all he loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him. Billy is survived by many cousins and was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service and burial will be held Friday, August 11, at 11:00AM at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Dennis Myers.
