Kim was born on April 26, 1970, in Dowagiac to Robert & Connie (Mosher) Plucienik.
She graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 1988. After graduation, Kim moved down to Fort Myers, FL where she worked as a Bank Teller for 23 years.
In October 2013, Kim moved back to Dowagiac where she met the love of her life, Joseph Schaus. Kim and Joe were married on August 9th, 2014, at the Newton House in Volinia.
Kim has always had a special love for animals, and they have always been drawn to her. If an animal was ever in need of rescue, Kim would open her heart and home for them. While in Florida, she worked part time at a small animal hospital caring for the animals on the weekends. Kim loved food and became quite a gourmet chef, often creating elaborate appetizers for family dinners. She enjoyed movies and music, especially her favorite band, U2, who she saw in concert at Chicago’s Soldier Field this past June.
Kim was a very kind, loving, generous and caring person; she was loved by all who met her and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Kim is survived by her husband, Joseph; parents, Robert & Connie; sister, Marnie (Kevin Scribner) Plucienik; aunt, Linda Peterson; and step-daughters, Holly & Amy Schaus.
