Eddy “Lavoy” Goodwin, 67, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Wings of Hope Hospice in Allegan. A private graveside service will be held at Hamilton Township Cemetery at a later date. Lavoy was born September 13, 1950 in Cleveland, Tennessee to Eddie and Betty (Hall) Goodwin. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. Lavoy had a passion for wood working. For many years, he worked as a carpenter with his uncle in Tennessee. He also enjoyed surfing, which he mastered when he lived in Florida. Lavoy loved listening to music; his favorites being 70’s and 80s Rock & Roll. Most of all he loved his family and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Lavoy is survived by his siblings, Sheila (Richard) McKellar, Vickie Goodwin, Kay Reynolds, Cynthia (Holly Good) Wallace and Jeffrey Wallace; and step-father, Bobby Wallace. Lavoy was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Wallace.
