Jane Winchester, 91, of Dowagiac, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at the Timbers of Cass in Dowagiac.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11 AM at Clark Chapel Funeral Home, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Jodi Cartwright officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 17, 2017, from 5 PM until 7 PM at the Funeral Home. Jane was born on June 12, 1926 in St. Petersburg, Florida to Benjamin J. and Agnes (Straub) Franklin. She graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1944. On May 8, 1947, she married Harold Winchester in South Bend, Indiana. Jane worked in sales at Marshall Fields as a purchasing agent for over 10 years before retirement. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church and belonged to a local gardening club. Jane loved spending time on the beaches of Lake Michigan and enjoyed gardening. In her spare time, she would go to South Bend, Indiana to shop and visit the mall. Most of all she loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
Jane is survived by her son Jeff (Mary Jane) Winchester; daughter-in-law Lisa Winchester; grandchildren, Todd (Stacey) Winchester. Tammy (Darin) Ribgsy, Gregory M. (Torie) Winchester, Erik (Tiffiany) Winchester, Jeffery Winchester and Melissa (Adam) Tyszka; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Sahyla, Kayla, Kira, Michael, James, Maddison, Mackenzie, Macie, Denton, Dilaney, Dylan, Erik, Jr. and Ava; great-great-grandson Abel and many nieces and nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband Harold and son Gregory Winchester.
