Robert's Obituary

Robert “Bob” L. Carlisle, 85, of Dowagiac, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, December 1, 2017 Graveside at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Memorial contributions may be made to Cass County Animal Shelter. Those wishing to leave a memory of Bob may do so at www.clarkch.com. Bob was born on June 12, 1932, in Daily, MI to Leroy and Ruby (Rarick) Carlisle. He graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1950. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. On January 31, 1969 he married the love of his life, Judy Flanders. He worked for Jessup Door Company as a salesman for over 30 years before retirement. After retirement he developed a passion for Ford Ranger Trucks and started buying and repairing them to re-sell. Bob loved wood working, water skiing and spending time on the water at his Indian Lake cottage. He enjoyed sports and was an avid University of Michigan fan. Most of all he loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, he was their biggest fan. Bob was a very giving and loving man, and had a big heart for animals. He will be missed by all who knew him. Bob is survived by his loving wife Judy Carlisle; children, Pamela (Patrick) Spivey of Eau Claire, Link Carlisle of Dowagiac and Steve (Lori) Carlisle of Stevensville; grandchildren, Rebecca (Brian) Grabemeyer, Joseph Spivey, Cody Carlisle, Connor Carlisle, Ellie Carlisle, Jack Carlisle and five great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and six sisters.
