Daniel was born July 29, 1939, in Chicago to John “Jack” and Loretta (Brophy) Lovell, Sr. He graduated from Leo High School in Chicago in 1957. After graduation, Daniel went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1966. On November 11, 1967, a day he always remembered “just like it was yesterday” he married the love of his life, Sharon Gies in Calumet City, IL. Daniel worked as a Pipe Coverer as part of Local 17 Heat and Frost Insulators in Chicago for 29 years before retirement. Daniel was known to be a quiet man but always the first to help anyone who was in need without being asked and never expecting anything in return.  He enjoyed working in his garage on various projects, shopping at Sears and Home Depot for tools, because he could never have enough tools, and sitting down by the lake with his close friends sharing a few cold ones and engaging in deep philosophical discussions. He loved fishing, being outside and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; children Daniel (Nora) Lovell, Jr. of Singapore, Ann Marie (Michael) Reilly of Thornton, CO, Kevin (Claire) Lovell of Highland Park, IL, Llora (Matthew) Sullivan of Chicago, IL and 15 grandchildren; brother Richard (Kathy) Lovell; sister Julie (Jan) Callahan and sister-in-law Mary Lou Lovell. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Loretta Lovell and older brother John Francis “Jack” Lovell Jr.
