David “Dave” Earl Leason, 61, of Dowagiac, was unexpectedly taken from us on Christmas Eve day, Sunday, December 24, 2017.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017, at 11 AM at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Peg Kohring officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 4PM until 7PM at the funeral home. An additional visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017, from 10AM until time of service. Dave was born on September 22, 1956 in South Bend, IN. He attended Dowagiac High School and was a longtime employee of Ameriwood in Dowagiac. Dave was a member of the local Moose Lodge and a huge Green Bay Packer and University of Michigan fan. He also enjoyed going to the local high school football games with his longtime friend, Charlie Squires.
Dave was known for always being a kind, loving and generous person. One of Dave’s happiest days was June 28, 2014, when he married his wife Kim. He was a faithful and devoted husband.
Dave is survived by his cherished wife Kim; their furbaby Daisy Green Bean Leason; son Justin; grandsons, Xander & Jay and their mother Rita; sisters, Kim (Dan) Payne, Dawn (Greg) Beck, Bobbi (Allen) Johnson; brothers, Dan Leason and Chuck (Rita) Leason and Ed (Gloria) Otwell; many nieces and nephews; and Kim’s four brothers and four sisters whom loved Dave as a brother.
Dave was preceded in death by his loving mother Marilyn Dodd, son Joshua Leason; special uncle Tom Dodd; niece Amber; and his loving mother-in-law Wanita Asdell.
