Martha Mae Carmichael

Martha Mae (Sandlin) Carmichael, 90, of Niles, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 10 at Pokagon Methodist Church with Pastor Brenda Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Martha was born July 14, 1927 in Austinville, AL to Ola Clyde & Lona Amanda (Moss) Sandlin. She moved from Alabama in the early 1950’s, and then to Hobbs, NM in the 1970’s. She made her living working in Home Care. Martha loved traveling to New Mexico. She was fearless and lived life to the fullest. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; former husband Joseph Northrop; three sisters and one brother.
