Mary's Obituary
Mary A. Peck, 95, of Dowagiac, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018, at The Timbers of Cass in Dowagiac.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 10, Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac with Pastor Stacey Wilder officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00AM until the time of service. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Southerncare Hospice. Mary was born on December 7, 1922 to Laben and Verna (Ferrell) Keene in Dowagiac. She graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1941. On December 4, 1943, she married the love of her life Dickson “Dick” Peck in South Bend, Indiana. After marriage, Mary was a homemaker, she took pride in her home, it was her mansion, she worked hard keeping a tidy house and raising her family. Mary worked briefly as a laborer for Rudy’s before retirement. She loved baking and was known for her chocolate cake and going garage saling. She also enjoyed being outdoors mushroom hunting and feeding her squirrels cookies. Most of all she loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her children, Connie (Ed) True and Donna (Jack) Johnson; grandchildren Rob (Nancy) True, Scott (Sarha) True, Becky Dollins and Cara Dollins; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dick Peck; infant son and siblings Milo Keene, Milford Keene, Bessie Pond, Harley Keene, Donald Keene and two infant brothers.
