William Yuras

William Yuras, 72, of Dowagiac, MI passes away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel – 405 Center St., Dowagiac, MI 49047.  William was born on Sept. 25, 1945 in Chicago, IL to the late Martin and Irene (Genda) Yuras. He served his country while in the U.S. Army. On Nov. 2, 1968 in Chicago he married Janice Wendt; she preceded him in death on April 12, 2002. William loved collecting Lionel trains, coins and stamps, doing puzzles, and his four legged companion Daisy.  William is survived by his two sons – William (Rhonda) Yuras and Robert (Jennifer Tidwell) Yuras both of Dowagiac; grandchildren – Colleen, Kathleen and Christina; great grandchildren – Noah and Owen; sister – Shirley (Ted) Kubiak of Waunakee, WI; and aunts – Julie Gumbos and Toni Habas.  A Celebration of Life memorial will take place on Sat., April 7, 12pm at Clark Chapel in Dowagiac with Father Richard Altine officiating. Visitation precedes the service from 10-12pm at the funeral home. Burial with military honors with the VFW from Dowagiac will follow at South Wayne Cemetery in Dowagiac.
