Marvel Irene DeGraff

Marvel Irene DeGraff, 98, of Dowagiac, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Cass County Medical Care facility in Cassopolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, 210 N. Front Street, Dowagiac with Father Kevin Covert officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Marvel’s name may be made to Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church. Those wishing to leave a condolence online may do so at www.clarkch.com. Marvel was born September 23, 1919 in Dowagiac to Frank and Clara (Fritz) Kidman. She graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 1937. On April 19, 1941 she married Clifford DeGraff at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church. Marvel enjoyed sewing and was known for her baking. She very much loved her church. She cared for the church linens for many years. Most of all she loved her family and enjoyed going to the casino. She will be missed by all who knew her. Surviving Marvel are her children Larry (Susan) DeGraff, Gloria “Glo” Collins, Joyce (Richard) Pond, Lonny (Dawn) DeGraff, Judy Torbet and son-in-law Ken Gaideski; 23 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Marvel was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clifford; daughter Linda Gaideski: siblings George Kidman, Terry Kidman, Yvonne Bournay, Annette Deming, Maxine Brosnan, Kathleen Krizinski and Dolores Kidman; son-in-law John Collins; and grandson Robbie Pond.
