Jacqueline's Obituary

In loving memory of Jacqueline J Marunycz; wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who passed peacefully on May 24th from a hard fought battle with cholangiocarcinoma. Her love, guidance and intellectually spirited discussions will be so missed.   She played leading roles in Pennsylvania’s Elk County’s Council for the Arts, Pennwriters of Pennsylvania and New Hampshire’s Romance Writers of America.  She helped and inspired numerous writers to become published.  Jacki has published short stories and poetry.  She loved to cook, travel and her “fur babies”.  Her Native American culture was important to her, she created Indian art, earrings, gods eyes and attended pow wows. She leaves behind her husband David; children Jeffrey (India), Gregory (Lisa), Melissa (Jon Zatezalo), and Bradly; grandchildren Derek, David, Jacob, Luke, Ayana, Sabella, Misha, and Tehya.  Sister Roberta Hansen.  Niece Cassandra Ruiz. Mary Jane Andrews, mother and Robert Elliott, father proceed her in death. She will always be in our hearts and memories. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018, at 12:00PM at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac with Pastor Boyd Saylor officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery in Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 11:00AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
