Marilyn was born on June 22, 1937, in Chicago Heights, IL, to Ken & Anne Fox. Years later, as a teenager, Marilyn & her family moved to Michigan. In her lifetime, Marilyn accomplished a great deal. She earned her bachelor’s degree in teaching from Western Michigan University and became a certified CNA. Of all her accomplishments, she was most passionate about her position as a CNA in the baby nursery at the local hospital. Marilyn loved children more than anything. She loved to share her knowledge and passion for learning with everyone. She began her teaching career at Oak Grove School, a one room school house, and later in life she opened ABC Nursery in Dowagiac. Nearly 30 years later, she is still being recognized by former students. Marilyn was the proud past President and Founder of M.A.D.D. in Cass Co. and former President for 17 years of the Cass Co. Historical Society. On March 19, 1977, she married Douglas Fry. They were happily married for almost 38 years before his passing in 2015. Together the two of them built a life raising 6 children. Marilyn was an incredible and loving person who has never met a stranger. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Marilyn is survived by her sons, James (Margaret) Kimmey of Virginia, Joe (Julie) Kimmey of Montana and Thomas (Missy) Marshall of Michigan; step-children, Tracy (Lana) Fry of Cassopolis and Kimberly Fry of Kentucky; 9 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ken & Anne; husband, Doug; and children, Marilee and Jeffrey.
