Francis S. Churchill

Francis S. Churchill, 93, of Dowagiac, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Forest Glen Assisted Living in Dowagiac. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to leave a condolence online may do so at www.clarkch.com. Francis was born on May 20, 1925 in Penn Township to Joseph Sturr and Myrtle May Churchill. He graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1943. Francis proudly served is country in the United States Army from 1945-1947. On July 31, 1948 he married the love of his life, Lorraine Houser in Vandalia. Francis worked for Clark Equipment for over 25 years before retirement. He enjoyed being outside gardening and in his younger years hunting. After retirement he loved traveling to Florida during the winter months. Most of all he loved his family and he will be missed by all who knew him. Francis is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years, Lorraine Churchill; children Janet (Gary) Carlile of Cassopolis and Craig (Susan) Churchill of Dowagiac and grandchildren Jon Churchill and Jacob Carlile. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry Churchill and siblings, Margaret Shaner, Irma Hiemstra, George Churchill, Wayne Churchill Eston Churchill and Van Churchill.
