Andrew Prak

Andrew “Butch” Prak III, 65, of Dowagiac, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at his residence. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 12 PM at Clark Chapel & Cremations Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Brian DeLong officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Butch was born on October 11, 1952, in Paw Paw to Andrew Jr., & AnnaMae (VanAwken) Prak. He graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 1970 and went on to continue his studies at Southwest Michigan College. Butch was a man with an incredible gift of building and constructing. He owned his own contracting business for many years. Butch would share his gift by building beautiful homes, including the one he lived in. He enjoyed watching Star Wars and Star Trek, bowling in his early years and trying his luck on slot machines. Most of all Butch loved his family; whether it was the yearly family trip to Cedar Point or dressing up as Santa Claus for the little ones, Butch was filled with the most joy when his family and friends were with him. He was a kind, loving and generous man, who was a “rock” for many people. Butch will be missed by all who knew him. Butch is survived by his daughters, Andrea (Ernest) Kiggins of Dowagiac and LeeAnna (Brian) Weaver of Marcellus; grandchildren, Marlaina, Arron, Austin and Ryan Kiggins all of Dowagiac; siblings, Lee (Marilyn) Prak, Jody (Kellie) Prak, and Barbara (Keith) Green all of Dowagiac; former spouse, Sherrie Sutfin of Buchanan; and many nieces and nephews. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jr., & AnnaMae Prak.
