Sarah Ann Young

Evangelist Sarah Ann “Jane” Young, 85 of Dowagiac, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Lakeland Hospital in Niles. Sarah was born September 25 in Coffeeville, MS to Frank and Estella Ford(Green). On November 29, 1962 she married John W. Young in Robbins, IL A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00PM. on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at New Vision Apostolic Faith Assembly, 819 Lake St., Niles with Bishop Carlton D. A devoted mother, Sarah was committed to God & family, and found a purpose in sharing Christ’s gift of love through mentoring young women. She was a faithful servant, always letting her light shine. Giving and helping others was what she loved to do. Her absence will be felt by her family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched throughout her journey. She is survived by six sons and four daughters; SSgt (R) Clarence (Robin) Young of Pontiac, MI; Ann (Jesse) Edwards of Covington, TN; SgtMaj (R) Bobby (Fran) Young of Waldorf, MD; Linda (Glenn) Baker of Covington, TN; Kathy Young of Covington, TN; LTC (R), John Young, Jr. of Dowagiac, MI; Sarah (Fred) Pierce of Florence, SC; Sydney Young of Fayetteville, NC; Andre (Renita) Young of North Charleston, SC and COL Abel (Kim) Young of Mount Laurel, NJ. Sarah also is survived by 29 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Fannie Ford, husband, and three grandsons, Donte White in 1983, John Young, III in 2007 and Bobby Young Jr. in 2015.
