Janet Elizabeth (Reardon) Nosich, 69, of Dowagiac, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Hanson Hospice Center – Stevensville of complications from MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome). She lived with MDS for 9 years and received hundreds of blood transfusions and blood draws but always remained positive and brave in her drive to live her life to the fullest.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 4 PM at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Tom Bird officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. Friends may visit with the family from 2 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or The Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation, 4330 East West Highway, Suite 230, Bethesda, Maryland 20814. Janet was born on March 23, 1949, in Chicago, IL to Thomas and Lois (Lampert) Reardon. She graduated from Chicago Vocational High School in 1966. On December 7, 1968, Janet married the love of her life, Stephen Nosich, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chicago. In 1971, Janet and Stephen moved to Big Crooked Lake in the Sister Lakes Area. She began her banking career at Community State Bank then moved to Huntington Bank and finally retired as Branch Manager from Edgewater Bank in St. Joseph Michigan. They loved to have friends and family come out to cruise on the pontoon boat. Janet also enjoyed playing softball and gardening. She was a lover of all things Disney and playing quarter slots in Las Vegas. Most of all, Janet loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful lady who will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Janet is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Stephen; children, Christopher (Dana) Nosich of Sister Lakes and Amy (Kevin) Dolhay of Chicago; grandchildren, Abigail, Brooke, Sydney and Audrey Dolhay; and siblings, Arlene Husich and Sally (Henry) Mendoza, and many devoted extended family members. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lois, and brother-in-law, John Husich.
