Faith's Obituary
Faith Murphy, 83, of Dowagiac, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018, at Timbers of Cass County.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 1PM at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Stacey Wilder officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12PM until time of service on Thursday, August 16, 2018. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwestern Michigan. Faith was born on October 9, 1934, to Gaylord & Helen (Brown) Murphy in Berrien Center. She graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1953. In 1955, Faith moved to Washington D.C. where she worked for the federal government. From Washington D.C. she was transferred to St. Louis, Mo. Mishawaka, Ind., Battle Creek,MI. then to Warren, MI before her retirement after 30 years of service. While in Warren she met the love of her life Charles Labelle. They were married in a very romantic St. Valentine’s Day wedding in Warren.
Faith was a very artistic person. She especially enjoyed ceramics, painting and knitting.
Faith is survived by her 6 nieces and nephews.
Faith was preceded in death by her parents, Gaylord & Helen Murphy; husband Charles Labelle; and siblings, Jeanette Britton, Paul Murphy, Julia Thomas and Carol Wrightsman.
