Rita K. Schilling

Rita K. Schilling, 77, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 3, 2018, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 51490 Laurel Rd., South Bend, IN, with Rev. Carl Bassett officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, November 2, 2018, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. Rita was born October 15, 1941, in Mt. Clemens, MI to Frank and Aleida (Strait) Moore. She graduated from New Haven High School in 1960. On August 20, 1960 she married the love of her life, William “Bill” Schilling in New Haven, MI. Rita enjoyed traveling to Florida every year with her husband. She loved Elvis and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Most of all she loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Rita is survived by her loving husband, Bill Schilling; children, William “Bill” (Karin) Schilling of Portage, Ruth Ann Schilling of Dowagiac and Debbie Schilling of Dowagiac; grandchildren, Shelby Schilling of Portage and Scott Groth of Dowagiac; great-grandchild, Faith Groth of Dowagiac; sister, Beverly Nagengaust of Detroit and niece, Rhonda Newson of Detroit. Rita was preceded in death by her parents and brother Roy Moore.
