Sebastian Rivera

Sebastian Rivera, 81, of Galien, MI passed away on April 13, 2015 at Hanson Hospice Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday April 17, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Heritage Chapel & Cremation Services, 8747 US 31, Berrien Springs, with Msgr. Leo Cartagena officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Three Oaks.  Friends may visit with the family on Friday at Heritage Chapel from 11:30 A.M. until time of service. Sebastian was born on November 7, 1933 to Sebastian & Maria Felis (Guzman) Rivera in Carácuaro de Morelos, Michoacan, Mexico. He worked as a machine operator in Chicago until he retired. On February 26, 1958 he married his wife Honorina Salgado in Carácuaro de Morelos, Michoacan, Mexico. Sebastian is survived by his wife; four children: Gabriel Rivera of Hartford, MI, Mia Rivera of Three Oaks, Bonifacio (Laura) Rivera of Joliet, IL and Magin (Maria Guadalupe) Rivera of Lansing, MI. He is also survived by his eleven sibling: Nicholas Rivera, Ilario Rivera, Luis Rivera, Jose Rivera, Raphael Rivera, Ninfa Rivera, Rachel Rivera, Maria Rivera, Nicholasa Rivera, Delia Rivera and Carina Rivera; 7 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Sebastian was preceded in death by his parents and brother Guamaliel Rivera.
