Eleanor T. Sowa, 93, formerly of Decatur passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in Woodstock, IL.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. (EST) on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Newell Chapel 83313 M-51 Highway, Decatur MI; a rosary will be recited at 4:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. (EST) Monday, February 13, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 500 W St. Mary Street, Decatur, MI 49045, officiated by Fr. Robert Creagan. Burial will follow at Harrison Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be given to Holy Family Catholic Church of Decatur or the VFW Auxiliary, 560 N. She is survived by her son Steve Sowa of Woodstock, IL; two granddaughters, Jeni (Mark) Van Thomme and Patricia Lynn Sowa, a sister-in-law Jean, and many nieces & nephews.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andrew; a son James; a sister Anna; brothers, Walter, Stanley and John.
