Marguerite's Obituary

Marguerite Marie Gribler, 89, of Decatur, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Meadow Woods Nursing Home in Bloomingdale, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Newell Chapel, 83313 M51, Decatur, with James Abshagen officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hamilton Cemetery. Memorial donations  may be made to the Cass County Shrine Club and Hospice of Southwest Michigan.  Friends wishing to leave a condolence or share a memory of Marguerite may do so online at www.newellchapel.com. Marguerite was born on November 26, 1927 to Harold and Faye (Deerwester) Deihl. She graduated from Dowagiac High school and married Walter Gribler on December 31, 1945 in Jeffersonville, IN. She worked for the State of Michigan as a social worker for the Department of Human Services in Cass County until her retirement in 1988. An avid reader and proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Marguerite most enjoyed time with her family. She is survived by her children Jere (Doug) Wilson of Niles, MI; Ron Gribler of Indiana, Joy (John) Shew of Avon, IN, and Dale (Melinda) Gribler of Lawrence, MI; daughter-in-law Nancy Gribler of Grand Rapids, MI; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and special friends and neighbors Walt and Madeline Murry. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; husband Walter; son Brian; grandson Jason; great-granddaughter Katelyn; siblings Harold, Noreen and  Bethjean.
