Katherine Hamilton

Katherine Hamilton, 93, of Hamilton Twp., Van Buren County, MI., passed away on Sunday, December 03, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church, 119 E. Delaware St., Decatur, MI. Burial will follow at Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton Twp. Friends may visit from 6-8 PM on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or VFW National Home for Children. On September 13, 1941 she married Orville Jay Hamilton, Sr. in Dowagiac, MI. Katherine was an accomplished artist, crafter and seamstress. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and the First Presbyterian Church. Katherine is survived by her children, Orville Jay (Mari) Hamilton, Jr., Fred (Janelle) Hamilton, David Hamilton, Joyce Damico, Kathleen (Bob) Wriska, Karen (Doug) Nauth and Janice Hamilton; sister, Eva Goodrich; sister-in-law, Martha Hamilton; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Sr.; parents, Martin and Magdalena (Leitheim) Gaborik; son-in-law, Frank Damico; seven brothers, two brother-in-law’s and one granddaughter.
