Pat Polomcak

Pat Polomcak, 75, of Cassopolis, passed away, Monday, September 24, 2018 at his home.  A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 28, 2018 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur, with Rev. James Abshagen officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Decatur. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials in Pat’s name may be made to Decatur VFW Post #6248. Those wishing to sign Pat’s Memory Book online may do so at www.newellchapel.com.  Pat was born March 30, 1943 in East Chicago, Indiana to Pete & Lillian “Marge” (Clark) Polomcak. He graduated from Decatur High School, Class of 1961. He was employed by Yerington Construction which became Michiana Aggregates, retiring in 2012 after forty-one years. On April 21, 1984, he married the former Susan Lolmaugh in Paw Paw, Michigan. Pat enjoyed his work and always was happy when operating heavy equipment and moving dirt. He was always willing to help anybody in need and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed restoring tractors and was a member of the Two Cylinder Tractor Club. Pat was a former member of the Dowagiac Moose Lodge and served on the Board for the Decatur Township Road Commission. Pat had a great love for anything chocolate, enjoyed decorating for Christmas with thousands of lights, and most of all cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren and family.   Pat is survived by his wife Susan; four sons-Mark Polomcak & Butch (Cindy)Polomcak, both of Cassopolis, Eric (Kara Youngblood) Polomcak of Sodus, Edgar (Mary) Nunez of Decatur; ten grandchildren-Nate (Joy) Street, Paige Polomcak, Mason Polomcak, Carly (Spencer Calley) Polomcak, Logan Polomcak, Grace Polomcak, Karol & Jesuah Nunez, Devin & Dustin Roberts; three great-grandchildren-Jordan Calley, Alyssa & Peyton Street; his brother Joseph (Kay) Polomcak of Decatur; two sisters-Nena Phillips & Susi (Mike) Siver, both of Decatur; several nieces & nephews and special friends-DeAnna & Julie Hoiland and the Cassopolis Basketball Team. He was preceded in death by his parents.
