John C. Tunis

John C. Tunis, 66, of Decatur, passed away, Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. John was born November 24, 1952, to Everett and Irene (Mills) Tunis in St. Joseph, Michigan. He was a self-employed carpenter before retirement, then went on to work at Walmart in Paw Paw before his illness. On March 16, 1984, He married the love of his life, Melody Grossler, in Paw Paw.  John liked to live life to the fullest and believed life was a party. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars and gardening. He had a love for animals, especially his dog, Layla. Most of all he loved his family and he will be greatly missed. John is survived by his loving wife, Melody Tunis; children, Melissa (Israel) Moser, Laura Lynn (Ryan Root) Tunis and Joseph (Erin Holland) Tunis and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
