Frank's Obituary

Frank Joseph Traficanto, 89, of Stevensville, formerly of Benton Harbor passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 at CrownPointe Senior Living.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, May 15 at 1:00 PM at Safe Harbor Church of God of Prophecy with Dr. Timothy Harper, Bishop Donald Parton, and Bishop Joshua Guyselman officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus.  Friends may visit at the church Wednesday, May 14 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM or Thursday from 12:00-1:00 PM before the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Safe Harbor Church of God of Prophecy or Honor Flight Chicago. Those wishing to share a memory of Frank online may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com   Frank was born July 9, 1924 in Scammon, Kansas to Rocco and Dora (Newberry) Traficanto. He married Ruby Jackson on June 30, 1945 in Chicago, IL.   Frank is survived by his daughters Karen (Billy) McCuan of Sodus and Delora (Dave) Sill of Benton Harbor, grandchildren, Tim (Tracey) McCuan, Mark (Katrina Gibson) McCuan, Lisa (Josh) Guyselman, Alanna (Mike) Fellner, Lori (Paul) Brovont; great grandchildren, Dakotah, Addison, Ryne & Sophia McCuan, Shawn, Shane, Elizabeth & Eian Nelson, Seth & Noah Brovont, and Raelynn Guyselman;  brothers Angelo and Rocco Traficanto;  and sister Pearl Pendergrass.  A host of nieces and nephews and families adopted over the years.   Frank was preceded in death by his parents,  wife Ruby; daughter Mavis Joan Traficanto; brother Ken Traficanto; sisters Mary Franklin, Rose Frasher & Cecilia Richardson.   Frank held pastorates in Illinois and Michigan, from 1970-1987 he was Pastor at Safe Harbor Church in Sodus, and Pastor Emeritus since 1987.  Frank was a casual employee at Leco for twenty- five years; he was a WW II veteran and had received a Purple Heart.  Frank was always mission minded, he loved God, church and family, especially his wife, whom he visited every day at the nursing home for eight years often bringing her cheesecake.  Frank was a gentle and peaceful man who loved wood and leather working.
