Joseph's Obituary

Joseph E. Oles, 75, of Berrien Springs, passed away, Friday, June 26, 2015 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Berrien Center Bible Church, 8830 M-140, Berrien Center with Pastor Bill Zebell officiating.  Memorials may be made to the Stevensville American Legion Post #568.  Those wishing to sign Joseph’s Memory Book online may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com. Joseph was born May 12, 1940 in St. Joseph to Joseph & Bessie (Wagner) Oles.  On August 13, 1966, he married the former Garnette Swift  in St. Joseph.  Joseph served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserve from 1963 until 1969.  He was employed as a Die Cast Operator at Paramont Die Cast for more than twenty years until they closed and retired from Premier Die Cast in Berrien Springs.  He was a member of the Stevensville American Legion Post #568 and a former member of the Southwestern Michigan Car Collectors. He was very proud of his “57” Chevy.  Joseph enjoyed deer hunting, fishing bowling, golfing, polka music, playing the organ, and especially the time spent with family and friends. Joseph is survived by his daughters-Beth A. (Joseph) Krumroy of Cassopolis, MI, Amy J. Oles of Berrien Springs; his granddaughter Heather Krumroy of Cassopolis; two great-grandsons-David & Aiden Purcell of Cassopolis; his sister Ann (Drayton) Fults of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law Darina Swift of Kalamazoo, Linda Oles of Eau Claire; brother-in-law Edward Banish of Berrien Springs; and numerous nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Garnette on August 29, 2013, his parents, his sister Virginia Banish, and two brothers-Lorenz & Vincent Oles.
