Laura Ramos, 84, of Berrien Springs, MI passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Morningside Nursing and Memory Care Center in South Bend, IN. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 10, 2013 at Village Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 635 St. Joseph Ave., Berrien Springs, MI with Dr. Edwin Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Berrien Springs. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the Heritage Chapel & Cremation Service, 8747 US 31 in Berrien Springs. Memorials may be made to Your Story Hour. In 1962 she married Salatiel Escotto. Laura worked as a self-employed merchant and seamstress. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing.Laura is survived by her son Anthony (Carmen) Escotto of Berrien Springs; daughters Ruth (Walter) Castillo and Laura (Carmelo) Moncada both of Elkhart, IN; six grandchildren Kimberly and Kelly Escotto, Ellie and Leeany Castillo and Aaron and Kristelle Moncada; Laura was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Alicia and brother Raul.
