Minnie Pearl (Isom) Johnson, 59, of Snellville, GA, formerly of Benton Harbor, departed this life on May 27, 2013 in Snellville, GA. Funeral services will be held 12 P.M. on Friday, June, 7, 2013, at Word Up Ministry Apostolic Church, 641 N. Crystal Ave., Benton Harbor, with Bishop OC Isom Jr. officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Northshore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Memorials may be made to Word Up Ministry Apostolic Church. Pearl is a 1972 graduate from Benton Harbor High School, and earned an Associate’s degree in Theology from Word Up Ministry College. Pearl was born February 5, 1954 in Benton Harbor, MI to the late OC Sr. and Lillie (Bowman) Isom. She was employed by Atlantic Automotive until her health declined, which lead her to medical retirement in 2002. Pearl became a mother to many, and opened her heart and doors to all. She loved to share her testimony about the Goodness of God to all. Pearl leaves her memories to be cherished by mother, Lillie Isom, of Benton Harbor; her only son, Du’Shon Isom; two daughters, Reca (Marquis) McClain & Atoya Isom, of GA; four sisters, Mildred Cook, Bridgette, Kimberly & Yolanda Isom, of Benton Harbor; three brothers, OC Jr., John and Edward Isom of Benton Harbor; seven grandchildren, Mariah, Jalen, & Juwan, of Indianapolis, IN; Tierra, Kyra, Chloe, & Joseph of GA; one great-granddaughter, Anaria (Molly) of GA. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband Harold Johnson, her father OC Isom Sr., and Brother Joseph Isom. Pearl’s last words to her family were, ‘Don’t worry about me. I’m in God’s hands.’
