Arthur's Obituary

Arthur Vorrath, 86, of Berrien Springs, MI passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Royalton Manor. Arrangements have been entrusted with Heritage Chapel in Berrien Springs, MI. Arthur was born December 2, 1926 in Sheboygan, WI to Peter and Christina (Weber) Vorrath. He served his country in the Phillipines while in the U.S. Army. On October 14, 1950 in Berrien Springs, MI he married Frances Elaine Snouwaert; she preceded him in death in 2004. Arthur worked as a machinist for Whirlpool and retired after more than 30 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs. Arthur’s passion was walking ‘The Trail’ in Niles and polka dancing. Arthur is survived by his two daughters Vanessa (Tim) Mummaw and Michele (Don) Zandarski both of Stevensville, MI; four grandchildren James Mummaw, Jill (Jon) Mitchell, Paul (Elizabeth) Zandarski and Kurt (Kirsten Peterson) Zandarski; three great grandchildren Hannah, Max and Dexten; a brother Ron (Ruth) Vorrath of Berrien Springs, MI; and a sister Donna (Bob) Lausman of St. Joseph, MI. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents-Peter and Christina, and his wife Frances, and one brother. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Weds., July 24, 10:00 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs with Pastor Douglas Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Berrien Springs. Visitation is at Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs on Tues., July 23 from 5:30-7:30PM.
