Dorothy Mae Schmidt, 95, passed away on Fri., October 25, 2013 in Newnan, GA. Arrangements have been entrusted with Heritage Chapel in Berrien Springs, MI.
Dorothy was born in Niles, MI on May 26, 1918 to Isaac and Mary (Young) Wideman. She was married to Louis Schmidt; he preceded her in death in 1989. Dorothy and Louis traveled between Michigan and Florida for many years. After her husband’s death, she moved to Georgia. Dorothy is survived by her four daughters-Barbara Crouch of Berrien Springs, Carol (Jerry) Brohman of Berrien Springs, Linda Martin of Hogansville, GA, and Patricia (Chuck) Dickinson of Coloma; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Mon., October 28, 1:00pm at Heritage Chapel in Berrien Springs. Burial will follow at Long Lake Cemetery in Berrien Township. Visitation is on Sunday at the funeral home from 3:00-5:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
