Albert Flagel

Albert Flagel, 91, of Berrien Springs, MI passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Jenny’s Place in Berrien Springs.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Heritage Chapel & Cremation Services, 8747 US 31 Berrien Springs with Pastor Brad Neese officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Berrien Springs.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Home or Berrien Center Bible Church. Those wishing to share a memory of Albert online may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com. Albert was born January 15, 1923 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Edward and Ann (Graber) Flagel. He was a 1941 graduate of Benton Harbor High School.  He entered the United States Army December 12, 1942 right from high school and was honorably discharged April 25, 1946.  On May 29, 1947 he married Elizabeth Mae Flagel in Berrien Springs.  Albert was an avid bird watcher, fisherman, golfer and fan of the Lions, Tigers and the University of Michigan.  He especially enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. Albert is survived by his sons; Thomas (Tina) Flagel of Berrien Springs, Douglas Flagel of Berrien Springs and David (Beckie) Flagel of Lowell, MI, grandchildren; Tim Flagel, Traci Flagel, Adam (Angie) Flagel, Ben (Leigh) Flagel, Sarah Flagel and Hanna (Drew) Werner; great-grandchildren Ashley Lewis, Abigail Lewis, Delaney Flagel, Jesse Flagel and Sydney Flagel; brothers; Art (Ann) Flagel, Paul (Laverne) Flagel, Ronald (Eleanor) Flagel; sister; Nita (Lou) Jackson; and sister-in-law Barbara Flagel.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, parents, brother Ted Flagel and sister Helen (Flagel) Pearson.
