William C. Haase

William C. Haase Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 25, 2014 in Granger Indiana. He was born on July 21, 1931 to William and Grace (Yeske)  Haase in Saint Joseph Michigan. After graduating from Saint Joseph High School in 1950, he served his country in the U.S Navy for over three years, where he met his wife Thelma Rae Cartwright at the Philadelphia Naval Air Base. They married on August 24, 1953 at Saint Peter’s Evangelical United Brethren in St. Joseph, MI. William (Bill) was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 153 for fifty-six years, where he worked on numerous projects in the Twin Cities and South Bend area. He served as the JATC training director for fourteen years, until his retirement in 1993. Bill and his wife Thelma traveled to Arizona during the winters of their retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post 303. Bill is survived by his wife, Thelma (Rae), son William C. Haase III, his daughter-in-law, Connie Haase, his three grandchildren, Shane, who resides in Coloma, Nathan, who lives currently in Noble, Illinois and Grace, from Berrien Springs, five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren,  along with various nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Nathan Haase, and sisters, Mildred Anderson, DorisBredlow, Edith Ells, and Ethel Wentland. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 29, 2014 at Heritage Chapel & Cremation Services, 8747 US 31 Berrien Springs. A private burial will be held at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma.  Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
