Audie's Obituary

Audie Cochran, 87, of Berrien Springs, passed away on May 22, 2015 while living with his son, Tracy Cochran in Kalamazoo, MI.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Heritage Chapel in Berrien Springs.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 27th, at Heritage Chapel at 8747 US-31, Berrien Springs with Rev. Derek Cromwell officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Berrien Springs. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Heritage Chapel.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hospice at Home. Those wishing to share a memory of Audie online may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com Audie was born September 30, 1927 in Hamilton, AL to Leland and Nettie (Tice) Cochran. He married Nellie Ruth King on November 4, 1948 in Fulton, MS.  Audie worked at a number of factories including 11 years at Yale and Town in Chicago, IL, and 23 years at Paramount Die Cast in Stevensville, MI.  He was a member of First Baptist Church, and enjoyed participating in services and revivals.  Audie was an avid football fan; with his favorite teams being Alabama Crimson Tide, Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos.  He loved growing his tomatoes and making bird houses.  Audie also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his son and grandchildren, and trips up north with his wife, family and friends. Audie is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Dennis) Wolfenbarger of Berrien Springs; son, Tracy (Beth) Cochran of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Leah and Justin Wolfenbarger and Sarah and Rachel Cochran; great-grandchildren, Tristen and Ayden; step-grandchildren, Denny Wolfenbarger, Deanna (Jesse) Scott and Dana (Terry) Belin; 10 step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry (Barb) Cochran of Kenosha, WI, Darlene Reed of Florence, AL, Daisy (Joe) King, Elvis (Ellen) Cochran of Hamilton, AL, and Alice Cupp of Adrian, MI.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Nellie; brother, Odis; and sister, Hazel.
