Dennis's Obituary

Dennis Wolfenbarger, 68, of Berrien Springs, passed away on July 10, 2015 at Hanson Hospice Center.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Heritage Chapel in Berrien Springs.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 18, 2015 at First Baptist Church, 209 Cass St., Berrien Springs with Rev. Derek Cromwell officiating. Those wishing to share a memory of Dennis online may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com  Dennis was born April 8, 1947 in Monroe, MI to Delmar and Geneva (Evans) Wolfenbarger. He proudly served his country in the Navy and Naval Reserves from Oct. 1964 to April 1970.  On November 20, 1981 he married Kathy Cochran in Monroe, MI.  Dennis was employed in the maintenance department at Ford Motor Company and later with Premier Tool and Die.  He became a Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Berrien Springs and was known as “Mr. Fix-It” fixing everything and anything.  Dennis was an avid deer hunter and motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed outdoor activities with his grandchildren and preparing great meals for his family and friends. Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Wolfenbarger of Berrien Springs, daughters; Deanna (Jesse) Scott of Eau Claire, MI, Dana (Terry) Belin of Berrien Springs and Leah Wolfenbarger (fiancé – David Cheshire), sons; Dennis Wolfenbarger, Jr. of Texas and Justin Wolfenbarger (fiancé – Amanda Peasley) of Berrien Springs, sister; Connie (Bob) Fleeman of Monroe, MI, brothers; Jack (Sandy) Wolfenbarger of Mesick, MI and Terry (Marla) Wolfenbarger of LaSalle, MI, 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Phyllis Miller and a brother, Jerry Wolfenbarger.
