Ricky Dale Rice

Ricky Dale Rice, 62, died Saturday, June 20, 2015 in South Bend, IN. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Heritage Chapel & Cremation Services, 8747 US 31, Berrien Springs, with Rev. Ricky was born July 4, 1952 in Watervliet to Dale and Halo (Conkey) Rice. Ricky graduated from Hartford High School, and pursued a career as a mechanic and auto body specialist. On January 8, 2009, he married his loving wife, Angela Mortimer, in Elkhart, IN.  He loved Indy Racing, sharing his passion of cars with his special friends, Jeff Lefebvre and Tom Divis, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Angela; sons, Ricky Rice of Stevensville, and Shawn Dale Meachum of St. Louis, MO; step-children, Brenden (Kessa) Jhala of South Bend, IN, Leanne (Lance) Ross of Jones, MI, and Francis (Rachel) Jhala of St. Joseph, MI; 7 step-grandchildren; brother, Rodney Rice of Lawrence, MI; and sister, Tammy Rice of Mt. Dora, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Nicholas Rice.
