Thomas's Obituary

Thomas Doyle, 69, of Berrien Center, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at his home with his wife by his side.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Heritage Chapel in Berrien Springs.   A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Heritage Chapel, 8747 U.S. 31, Berrien Springs.  Those wishing to share a memory of Thomas online may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com. Thomas was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 4, 1946 where he lived with his parents, John and Loretta (Murphy) Doyle until he completed high school. Following graduation, he proudly served his country as a Medic “Specialist” and flew air rescue in the Air Force for four years.  On March 12, 1988, Thomas married Sherry Stiles Swenson in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He retired from Pawating Hospital where he worked as Human Resources Director.  Thomas enjoyed “tinkering” with electronics, utilizing his knowledge from electrical engineering. He also enjoyed woodworking, crafting countless pieces over the years.  He loved traveling to warm and sunny destinations with his wife, Sherry, including Cancun and Ana Maria Island in Florida.  His greatest pride and joy; however, were his grandchildren whom he adored.   Thomas is survived by his wife Sherry, son Ryan Doyle of Buchanan, step-sons; Jason (Alicia) Swenson of Bridgman and Brian Swenson of Arizona, grandchildren; Anidale Doyle, Jason Swenson and Grace Swenson, mother-in-law Marion Stiles of Berrien Springs, sister-in-law, Dwan (Barry) Spriggs of Berrien Springs and very special cousin, Edna Jonatzke of Arkansas.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
