Stanley's Obituary
Stanley Hickerson, 63, of Berrien Springs; passed away Friday, January 15, at home with family at his side.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 18, at Pioneer Memorial SDA Church, 8655 University Blvd., Berrien Springs, with Pastor Esther Knott and Pastor Jose Bourget officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Sunday, January 17 at Heritage Chapel in Berrien Springs. Stanley was born July 15, 1952 in Riverside, CA to Bryce and Jean (Vernoy) Hickerson. On July 16, 2000 he married Kathryn (Hubbard) Gillett in Battle Creek, MI. Stanley achieved a Master of Divinity and devoted his life to being a pastor, professor and historian. He was on the Board of Neighbor to Neighbor. His favorite pastimes were researching historic Adventist properties, discovering his family history, and quality time with his wife and family.
Stanley is survived by his parents Bryce and Jean of Carmichael, CA; wife Kathryn; daughters, Ellen Bronson of Fallen, NV, Tiffany (Shay) Smith of Battle Creek, MI, Kimberly Greene of Battle Creek, MI, Emily (Fernando) Castro of Altamonte Springs, FL, Emily (Justin) Groff of Roseville, CA and Derrick (Darlene) Gillett of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Chloe Smith, Caydence Smith, Chase Smith, Chandler Smith and Nicholas Greene; sisters Kathy (Fred) Miller of Bellflower, CA, Ruthie (David) Gage of Otis, OR, and Shelli (Ted) Baze of Ceres, CA, and a host of nieces and nephews.
