Margaret Jane Lentz

Margaret J. Lentz, 94, went to be with her Risen Lord and Savior, Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Cartel Inns. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 9123 George Ave., Berrien Springs with Pastor Douglas Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Those wishing to sign Margaret’s guestbook may do so online at www.heritage-chapel.com Margaret was born July 5, 1922 in St. Joseph, MI to Ferdinand & Augusta (Schramm) Knuth. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in 1940. On February 1, 1941 she wed Arnold Lentz in St. Joseph, MI. Margaret kept a busy schedule caring for her home and her four children. She was proud to work at the Lentz family fruit stand for many years selling produce to all of Berrien County. Margaret was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on Ladies Aide and sang in the choir.  She enjoyed sewing and many times she would sew her daughter’s dresses. Margaret is survived by her daughters Carol (Thomas) Longshore of Prosperity, SC, Janet Glover of Emigsville, PA and Marilyn Lentz of Dowagiac; son Jon (Janet) Lentz of Marietta, GA; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Arnold and siblings Anita Lange, Ervin Knuth, Oscar Knuth, Fernest Knuth and Louise Franks.
