Betty Jean Brackett

Betty Jean Sherman Brackett, 87, passed away at Timber Ridge Manor in Berrien Springs, MI, on November 21, 2016. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heritage Chapel & Cremations Services of Berrien Springs. Per her wishes cremation has taken place.  Burial will take place at a later date.  Friends wishing to leave a condolence for the family may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com.   Betty was born in Alva, Oklahoma, September 4, 1929 to Harold and Constance (Jackson) Sherman. Betty earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing and worked as an Operating Room Supervisor at Fletcher Hospital in North Carolina for over 20 years.  Betty enjoyed reading and was an avid skier in her earlier years. After retirement, she relocated to Berrien Springs to be near her son and his family.  Betty was a very devoted and loving Mother and Grandmother. Betty is survived by her son David (Adelaide) Brackett of Berrien Center; two grandsons – Benjamin Brackett of California and Jesse Brackett of Berrien Springs; and sister Nilda (Robert) Johnson of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Sheldon (Joy) Sherman.
