Julie Anne Stringer

Julie Anne (Ziegler) Stringer, 70, formerly of East Lansing, MI, passed away at her home in Niles, MI surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 5, at 7:26 AM. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heritage Chapel in Berrien Springs.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday, February 17, 2017, at Berrien Center Bible Church, 8830 M-140, Berrien Center, MI, with Bill Zebell officiating. A time for visitation will follow the service.  Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Douglas Pratt or to the Salvation Army in Niles. Those wishing to share a memory of Julie online may do so at www.heritage-chapel.com Julie was born in Lansing, MI, on August 5, 1946, to George and Ellen (Donahue) Ziegler. After graduating high school, she raised three sons and owned and marketed Starving Artists for many years. Julie was an avid Spartan fan – from a license plate on her car to hosting “Sparty” at one of her tailgate parties.  As a season ticket holder, she seldom missed a game.  Julie followed the sun to warm climates making annual trips to the Cayman Islands and to her second home in Florida (Disney). She enjoyed time with movie-club friends, researching and studying genealogy, and traveling to Italy with a grandchild.  Julie possessed a great desire to help others.  She fulfilled her ambition by volunteering as a cook at the Salvation Army in Niles, MI.  Julie touched the hearts of her family and countless others who will dearly miss her.   Julie is survived by her three sons Ronald Pratt of Lansing, MI, Douglas (Linda) Pratt of Niles, MI and LT. Daniel Pratt of Patuxent River, MD; four grandchildren Brandi Pratt, Alyssa Pratt, Kelsi Gemalsky and John Pratt; and a sister Kris (Stephen) Cooper of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Eric “Duffy” Ziegler.
