CaralaAnn “Carla” Ruth Willis, 60, of Berrien Springs, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017, at Hanson Hospice Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 11:00AM at Heritage Chapel, 8747 US 31, Berrien Springs, with Pastor Marcel Pichot officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Carla was born on September 24, 1957, to Ward & Emma “Jane” (Tyler) Flannery in Indio, CA. She attended school at San Pasqual Academy in California. Carla married Dennis Willis on February 7, 1976, in Loma Linda, CA. Carla passion in life was being an early education teacher at the Crayon Box at Andrews University. She enjoyed listening to music, reading and watching Sci-Fi movies. Most of all Carla loved to spend time with her family, especially her Golden Retriever, Molly. Carla was survived by her husband Dennis; children, Jessica (Thomas) Hartline of Cassopolis,  Melinda (Chad) Slings of Canyon Lake, Jennifer (Juan) Diaz of South Bend and Daniel (Carrie Spletzer) Willis of  Eau Claire; grandchildren, Olivia, Logan, Emily, Noah, Ashley, Henry, James and Devin; brother, Jerry (Tina) Flannery of Walkersville, Maryland; and sister-in-law Sheryl Flannery of Wisconsin. Carla was preceded in death by her parents; brother Ronald Flannery and sister Barbara Flannery.
