Marjorie Elsie Jones

Marjorie Elsie (Clark) Jones, 101, of Berrien Springs, MI, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 1, 2018. Arrangements entrusted to Heritage Chapel and Cremation Services 269-471-2700. No service or visitation has been planned. Private burial will take place at a later date at Central Lake Cemetery. Marjorie was born April 16, 1916, in Flushing, MI to Harvard History and Gertrude Bessie (Knecht) Clark. She was the oldest of seven children. Marjorie married the love of her life, Ivan Edward Jones, on March 30, 1934, in Lansing, MI. She worked as a switch-board operator for Auto Owners Insurance Company and Cadillac Servicing Company. She was a devoted member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Central Lake and in Stevensville. She enjoyed sewing quilts, knitting and crocheting sweaters. She made over fifty quilts during her lifetime. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Carol Beal of Berrien Springs, MI and Phyllis (Tom) Clayton of Detroit, MI; son, Bob (Dorothy) Jones of Florida; son-in-law, Kent Dacre of California; nine grandchildren, David, Linda, Shawna, John, Valerie, Bryan, Bill, Alan and Lance; ten great-grandchildren, Sara, Danielle, Derek, Alex, Erik, Karyl, Katie, James, Alyssa and Cody; sister, Esther (Bill) Sias of Tennessee; brothers, Arden (Nina) Clark of Tennessee and Joe (Sharon) Clark of Arkansas. She was preceded by her parents; husband, Ivan; daughter, Connie Dacre; son-in-law, Orville Beal; grandson, Randy; sister, Doris and brothers, Melvin and Gail.
