Lynn Crandall Sumner, 79, of Berrien Springs, MI, passed away at Hanson Hospice Center, February 26. 2018. Arrangements entrusted to Heritage Chapel and Cremation Services 269-471-2700. No service or visitation has been planned. Private burial will take place at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery. Lynn was born March 30, 1938, in Melrose, MA to Evan and Elsie (Brown) Sumner.  He married Nancy Lynn Schueler on October 25, 1961 in Berrien Springs, MI. In November of 1961, he entered the Army proudly serving his country for the next two years. Lynn owned and operated his own company, Sumner Construction, building residential homes locally throughout his career. He loved the outdoors, was a member of the Audubon Society, and an avid supporter of his granddaughter’s Grace Christian School teams. His greatest contribution was recording the family history in The Sumner Times Newsletter he authored and distributed to them quarterly. Lynn is survived by his daughters, Cara (Brian) Rumer of Cassopolis, MI and Lynda (Kirk) Haley of Orcas, WA; grandchildren, Brittany (Scott) Cameron of Cape May, NJ, Kristin (Matt) Ross of Benton Harbor, MI and Ashley (Alex Blematl) Rumer of Portage, MI; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Keegan, Keano, Kai, Brea and Mya and brother, Delbert Sumner of Tennessee. He was preceded by his parents; wife, Nancy and brothers, Russell Sumner and Carrol Sumner.
