Julius's Obituary

Julius “Pappy” Zandarski, Sr., 91, of Berrien Springs, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Heritage Chapel, 8747 U.S. 31, Berrien Springs, MI with Pastor Douglas Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Stevensville American Legion, Post 568, 3093 Johnson Rd., Stevensville, MI 49127 or to donor’s choice. Julius was born on February 2, 1927, to John and Veronica (Hudak) Zandarski at the family farm in Berrien Springs. He was a United States Army Veteran. On December 6, 1952 he married Virginia Kolberg and from this union came four sons. Virginia passed away in 1985 and he later married Margo Wolanin who passed away in 2013. Julius worked at Bendix as a set up man and retired after 35 years of service. He enjoyed being on the farm and hunting and fishing with his family. He is survived by his sons, Denny (Kris) Zandarski, Doug (Debbie) Zandarski and Don (Michele) Zandarski; sister, Stella Adent; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Veronica; first wife, Virginia; second wife, Margo; son, Dave (Teresa) Zandarski and his nine brothers and sisters.
