Lana Rae Remus

Lana Rae (Ashley) Remus, 74, of Berrien Springs, MI passed away peacefully at Caretel Inns of Lakeland on Sunday, October 14, 2018. Arrangements entrusted to Heritage Chapel and Cremation Services 269-471-2700. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Heritage Chapel, 8747 US 31, Berrien Springs, MI with Pastor Ray Fulbright officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, October 18 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Heritage Chapel. Lana was born December 1, 1943 in La Porte, IN to James and Geraldine (Spencer) Ashley. After graduating Berrien Springs High School in 1962, she pursued a career in finance. On November 23, 1963 she married the love of her life, Gary Remus. Lana possessed a strong work ethic dedicating over 32 years to Standard Federal Bank and 25 years to title work – most recently Chicago Title. In addition, she provided over 30 years of bookkeeping support to her husband’s business – Gary’s Standard Service Station in Niles. Lana had a heart of gold and was very devoted to her family. She saw the good in everyone. Lana’s favorite times were spent with her family, especially her beloved granddaughter, Taylor. Lana is survived by her three sons, Eric (Jennifer Baker – fiancé) Remus of Berrien Springs, MI, Mark (Jennifer) Remus of Niles, MI and Rick (Kristie Ross) Remus of Stevensville, MI; three grandchildren, Taylor Watson, Ryan Remus and Reagan Remus; two sisters, Phyllis Ashley of Niles, MI and Vivian Brady of Birmingham, MI and sister-in-law, Linda (Dennis) Wilson of Niles, MI. She was preceded by her parents and husband of 44 years, Gary Remus.
